Clementine Chocolate Mousse Topped With Candied Clementine Slices
This Clementine Chocolate Mousse is perfect for those who love chocolate and orange together. This Clementine Chocolate Mousse has the perfect balance of orange and chocolate flavors.
2Cups Semisweet Chocolate Chipsor 1/4 Cup of Cocoa Powder
2TspVanilla Extract
1/4CupIcing Sugar
4Clementine'sJuiced + Zest
Candied Clementine Slices
1 1/2CupsWater
3/4CupSugar
2Clementine's Sliced
Instructions
Clementine Chocolate Mousse
Melt chocolate chips in the microwave for about 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Then let chocolate cool for 5-7 minutes.
Grab a large metal bowl and add in your heavy whipping cream. Beat the whipping cream until hard peaks form. Save bit of the plain whipped cream for garnish.
Add in the vanilla, icing sugar, clementine juice and melted chocolate and quickly beat until everything is well combine. Don't forget to scrap the sides!
Pipe the mousse into containers of choice. I used Ramekins for mine, cover and immediately put in the fridge to set.
Candied Clementine Slices
In a non-stick pan, on medium-high heat, add in your water and sugar and let it come to a boil.
Add in your clementine slices and cook until the fruit is translucent.
Turn the heat down to medium-low heat and let the orange's sit in the syrup.
Lay a parchment paper on the counter and carefully take out each clementine slice to dry. Make sure that each slice is separated!
Right before serving, grab a bowl of sugar and coat each clementine slice and garnish it on the mousse with the plain whipped cream and orange zest!
