Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups Salted Softened Butter
  • 1 Cup Icing Sugar
  • 3 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Bag Hershey's Sea Salt Caramel Chipits
  • Caramel Sauce optional, drizzle on top
  • Sea Salt optional, sprinkle on top

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325F and line a 9x9" baking pan with parchment paper or grease generously with butter or oil.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add in your butter and mix with an electric mixer until smooth for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add in icing sugar 1/2 cup as a time and mix again. Scrape down the sides so everything is well incorporated.
  • Add in flour a cup at a time and mix at low speed. At this point, you'll have super crumbly dough.
  • Dump all the dough into the baking sheet and press down firmly including all the corners of the pan. Using a fork, poke around the cookie dough for even cooking.
  • Bake in the oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool.
  • Pour a whole bag of sea salt caramel chipits into a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds at a time until all the chipits are melted.
  • Pour the melted chipits mixture on top of the shortbread base. Let cool on the counter for an additional 20 minutes and put in the fridge for minimally an hour up to 2 for the chipits to harden.
  • Cut, serve and enjoy!
