HERE IS HOW TO MAKE BROWN SUGAR BACON PIGS IN A BLANKET:

WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?

The ingredients to make these pigs in a blanket are super simple and only requires 4 ingredients! You can find these ingredients at your local grocery store or even online! You’ll need bacon, cocktail sausages and premade cresent rolls from the refrigerated section and brown sugar from the baking or pantry aisle!

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?

The ingredients to make this delicious appetizer are:

  • Cocktail Sausages
  • Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • Bacon
  • Brown Sugar

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

This recipe is great if you’re pressed on time or just want to bring a super simple appetizer to a gathering or party you’re invited to! You’ll only need pretty basic kitchen items which you should hopefully already have but if you don’t, you can easily find kitchen items from your local dollar store or even department store.

I generally bake these in the oven but you can also easily just put them in the air fryer or toaster oven!

Here are some of my Amazon kitchen favourites!

CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?

You sure can substitute or add anything to this recipe! I always like to purposefully keep my recipes so simple so that anyone can follow but cooking is all about creativity so do add or substitute what you need! Here are some ideas for substitutions:

  • Using any kind of hot dog/bacon meat that is tailored to your diet
  • Adding black pepper or hot sauce for a kick
  • Adding a small sprinkle of shredded cheese or parmesan inside
  • Adding maple syrup to the brown sugar

WHAT DO BROWN SUGAR BACON PIGS IN A BLANKET TASTE LIKE?

These brown sugar pigs in a blanket are amazing! Every time I make them for my husband and me, I have to stop myself from consuming them all. They are just that addictive! You get the savoury and salty bacon and sausage and a little bit of crescent roll dough to stabilize the saltiness and on top of that, you get a sweet brown sugar to tie everything together! It is just the perfect combination!

HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?

I definitely recommend making them fresh to enjoy however, should you have any leftovers or want to make it for the week to enjoy, store in an air tight container for 5-7 days and just pop in the air fryer or microwave to reheat. You can also store these in the freezer for up to 1 month!

INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?

I thought of this recipe just before the holidays! I love that holiday recipes involves lots of sweet and savoury and I thought what better way than to combine both in a simple appetizer recipe! I know that lots of people love lots of different seasonings and spices but honestly, I find that I love simple tasting things the most!

Especially when you have a big flavourful turkey and buttery mashed potatoes as your main course, it’s okay to keep things simple as a starter!

ANY OTHER NOTES?

No other notes for this, it is so easy!
