HERE IS HOW TO MAKE SPICY GROUND BEEF COLESLAW BOWL:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
You can find the ingredients to make this delicious ground beef bowl anywhere! You’ll want to get a package of coleslaw from the produce section, some black beans from the pantry section and some ground beef from the meat section! You can use any sauces you’d like however, I love spicy sauce so I use buffalo sauce for this recipe!
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this recipe are:
- Cooked Lean Ground Beef (use any seasonings you’d like)
- Cooked black beans (cooked however you’d like)
- Raw Coleslaw (no dressing)
- Buffalo or any spicy sauce you prefer!
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
I love to batch cook my ground beef and black beans in the beginning of the week and just eat it throughout the week. If I run out, both things are super easy to make more of! When assembling your bowl, all you’ll need is some bowls and utensils!
Here are some fav Amazon kitchen things!
CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?
You can of course alter this recipe to your liking! For me, I like keeping my foods are simple as possible. When my daily meals are simple, it just provides me with less decision fatigue and I can focus my energy on so many other things!
Here are some great ideas to spruce up this recipe!
- Drizzle some ranch sauce on top, or try this High Protein 2 Ingredient Ranch Dip
- Add some more protein like shrimp
- Top with an avocado
- Sprinkle some shredded cheese
- Add some more fresh veggies like kale, bell peppers, or tomatoes
- Add some frozen or canned sweet corn
- Add some roasted sweet potatoes on the side
WHAT DOES SPICY GROUND BEEF COLESLAW BOWL TASTE LIKE?
These spicy ground beef coleslaw bowls are so yummy! They are so dense and packed with flavour. This keeps me full for so long! I enjoy raw cabbage as I feel it keeps me satiated for much longer. It reminds me slightly of a taco bowl! If you season your ground beef with taco seasoning, it will taste like a taco bowl!
For ground beef, my go-to seasoning will always be Kinder’s Woodfired Garlic Rub, I really enjoy the smokey and salty flavours from this! The buffalo sauce gives this a nice tangy kick and overall, just a delicious healthy meal!
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
I like to heat my black beans and ground beef separately and the coleslaw mix is raw so it keeps for up to a week! If you’re going to throw everything together and eat it cold, I would say keep in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days max! I make batches of about 4-5 servings so everytime I am out of ground beef/black beans/coleslaw, I just make/buy more!
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
Weight loss is so hard! I completely understand! It’s a hard journey to be on, and if you’re also prioritizing other things like fibre, it’s even harder! I continuously kept prioritizing finding foods that worked with me and my goals and this ground beef bowl does it! It’s super high protein, fiber and has lots of nutrients so it ticks all my boxes! I love how easy it is and how (so far haha) have not gotten sick of it despite enjoying this for the past 2 months!
