The ingredients to make these delicious and yummy rice krispies treats can be found anywhere! Luckily most of these ingredients are pantry items which is easily found in most grocery stores then you’ll just need some butter which can be found in the dairy section. I would say that the hardest ingredient to find would be the ube extract but since ube it becoming a more popular flavour, it should be easier to find in Asian grocery stores.
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
You only need a few ingredients for this recipe!
- Ube Extract
- Rice Krispies Cereal
- Marshmallows
- Butter
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
If you’ve ever made rice krispies treats before, you’ll know that this recipe is very very basic! You’ll basically need a medium-large pot to do everything in, a spatula to mix and some measuring cups. Then you’ll need to transfer the mixture into a parchment-lined pan to let cool before cutting into individual pieces!

You sure can! This is a very basic rice krispies treat recipe and that you can easily customize. Some ideas to spruce up the recipe are:
- Topping with some sprinkles
- Adding in some chopped white chocolate
- Adding in some shredded coconut
- Browning the butter for a richer flavour

I have been seeing ooey gooey rice krispies treats online and thought I can totally make that ube and I’m so glad that I did! I inhaled two immediately as soon as I made them and thought oh no.. this is dangerous haha

Ube Rice Krispies Treat
Ingredients
- 1/4 Cup Salted Butter
- 400 g Mini Marshmallows + extra for topping (optional)
- 2 tsp Ube Extract
- 4 Cups Rice Krispies Cereal
Instructions
- Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter.
- Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Stir in the ube extract until evenly incorporated and the mixture is a vibrant purple color.
- Remove from heat and gently fold in the Rice Krispies until fully coated.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and press it evenly into the corners using a spatula.
- If desired, sprinkle extra mini marshmallows on top and gently press them into the surface.
- Let cool at room temperature before slicing into 9 squares. Enjoy!
