Halloween crafts are some of my favs to do! I love how I can make spooky and scary things, cute!

I might sound like a broken record at this point but crafting for me is therapeutic. I’m not the type of person to just sit around and do nothing so when I need to relax, I like indulging myself in crafts or different hobbies. Whether it’s painting, sewing, or really anything DIY, you can’t take the craft out of me!

I absolutely love this idea of Coffee Filter Ghosts and think they are absolutely perfect to give out too. I love that the materials are also so affordable and you only require a few things. Those are my favourite crafts, hands down! I love crafting so much that I really cannot afford to buy a long list of materials every time I want to start a new craft project.

Do you like intricate crafting projects or simpler ones? I’d love to know!

Coffee Filter Ghosts Halloween Craft - Pin 1

My niece spent a week with me earlier this month so I thought why not try to do this craft with her. She loves being in my YouTube videos and being a part of my work so I like to include her when I can!

She’s definitely not as crafty as me but she likes YouTube every child nowadays does haha! We did enjoy making these together though and spending time together is what counts!

If you’re a crafty person, were you always a crafty person or did you grow into it as you age? If you’re not a crafty person, did you do crafts as a child? Let me know in the comments!

This Coffee Filter Ghosts Halloween Craft is accompanied by a YouTube Tutorial. If you haven’t subscribed to my channel on YouTube, don’t forget to!

HERE IS HOW TO MAKE COFFEE FILTER GHOSTS:

WHERE CAN I FIND THESE MATERIALS?

The materials to make these coffee filter ghosts can literally be found anywhere! That’s the great part of this craft is that you most likely have these materials at home.

WHAT ARE THE MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THESE COFFEE FILTER GHOSTS?

The materials needed for this craft are:

If using lollipops:

  • round end lollipops
  • coffee filters
  • black ribbon or yarn
  • pen/marker

If using cotton balls:

  • cotton balls
  • coffee filters
  • thin wood sticks or bbq skewers
  • black ribbon or yarn
  • pen or marker

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

You don’t really need anything at all for this craft besides scissors! It’s the best! It’s super easy and a child of any age can make coffee filter ghosts!

WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO CREATE?

The steps needed to make these coffee filter ghosts are:

  • Prepare and Measure – You’ll need to prepare the materials for this coffee filter ghosts overall:
    • Mini Coffee Filters
    • Black Yarn
      • A few pieces of black yarn (about 8-10cm
    • Lollipops OR Wood BBQ Skewers & Cotton Balls (Each Tassel)
      • A few lollipops
      • A few wood skewers
      • A few cotton balls
    • Equipment
      • Black Marker or Pen
  • Create and put together – Next, you can start putting them altogether.
  • Draw ghost faces – Finally draw a face on each coffee filter stick!
  • Decorate your home or give it to people!

CAN I SUB ANYTHING OUT?

These coffee filter ghosts can definitely have some materials substituted! You can use either lollipop and hand them out as treats OR you can use cotton balls and coffee skewers. You can easily draw ghost faces on the coffee filters but you can also use googly eyes or face stickers!

HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?

This craft definitely does not keep for long so I suggest tossing them out when you’re done with your Halloween decor. Thankfully, you can easily make this every year and it’s a fun craft for anyone of any age!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE?

This craft is a quick one to make! It takes about 2-4 minutes per coffee filter ghost so you can make a big batch within an hour of watching your favourite Halloween movie! I suggest making all of the ghosts then drawing their faces! You’ll be a lot faster than stopping to draw for every single one of them.

MORE CRAFT INSPIRATION?

Some other great crafts like these coffee filter ghosts are:

  • Hanging Tissue Ghost
  • Paint Ghosts
  • Puffy Halloween Ghost
  • Paper Straw Ghosts

INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS DECOR?

Honestly, I’ve been scrolling high and low through every social media platform to hype myself for Halloween! I love easy and cute crafts and these coffee filter ghosts tick off both!

I love the cute ghost faces I can make on this and how I pretty much have all the materials in my home at all times!

WHERE CAN I PUT THESE COFFEE FILTER GHOSTS

You can give these coffee filter ghosts away to trick or treaters, pass them as a treat to your kid’s class or even use it as home decor as I did! I put 4 of mine into a decorative bowl and put it on my floating shelves in my office! Alternatively, you can put them on a bookcase, mantel or even the bathroom counter.

ANY OTHER NOTES?

No other notes for this craft today! It is super easy and cute to do. You’ll be able to do this annually and have lots of fun with it.

STEPS TO DO THESE COFFEE FILTER GHOSTS:

If you’re using lollipops:

Step 1: Grab a coffee filter and cover a round lollipop.

Step 2: Tie the coffee filter securely around the lollipop and into a bow tie.

Step 3: Draw your cute ghosty faces!

Step 4: Decorate or hand out to people!

If you’re using cotton balls and wooden skewers:

Step 1: Grab a coffee filter fill with 3-5 cotton balls and tie it around a wood stick or BBQ skewer.

Step 2: Tie the coffee filter securely around the coffee filter/cotton balls/wood stick and into a bow tie.

Step 3: Draw your cute ghosty faces!

Step 4: Decorate or hand out to people!

Hope you enjoyed this post on how to make coffee filter ghosts! This is such a fun craft and I loved making these myself! I don’t have kids yet but I love doing crafts.
