It’s safe to say that September and October are all about Spooky Season!

It’s that time of the year where we’re settling down and are almost done the year but still have lots to look forward to! Halloween is a big one for me. Although I’m not big into scary things, I love doing cute things for Halloween. Well, if I’m being honest, I love having fun and any excuse to celebrate anything.

I think that life is too short to not celebrate even the smallest of things so I made an awesome list of 13+ Spooky Halloween Themed Date Night Activities!

13+ Spooky Halloween Themed Date Night Activities - Pin 1

My husband and I have been together for about 8 and a half years now so we’ve gone through our fair share of Halloween themed date night activities!

Fall is my favourite season and coincidentally both our birthdays and our wedding anniversary are during Fall too so we have plenty to celebrate. We’ve made it a tradition to celebrate Fall to the fullest and I cherish the time and memories we spend and create together!

My friend Sarah over at That Lemonade Life wrote a post on 6 Favorite Fall Traditions to Celebrate the Season that featured one of my favourite Fall traditions! If you haven’t read it yet, you need to!

I enjoy the cooler weather during Fall and hate being all hot and sweaty. I’d rather bundle up during date nights and there are so many things to do with a partner or even a group of friends! Sweaters, boots and leggings all the way for me!

What are your favourite Halloween themed date night activities? Let me know in the comments!

Halloween Movie Night

One of my most favourite things to do during spooky season has hands down got to be movie marathons! I love watching Halloween Family Friendly Movies. I’m a big scaredy-cat so horror and gore aren’t for me! My husband and I love binge-watching Halloween movies every weekend prior to Halloween night!

Halloween Haunted House

Haunted houses are awesome to check out with a partner! Gives you a chance to get close and hold hands while going through spooky and mysterious haunted houses! I also love how much thought and detail goes through designing a haunted house! It’s truly spectacular and the actors/actresses do a phenomenal job!

Halloween Pumpkin Craving

I don’t know about you but pumpkin carving is my thing! I look forward to pumpkin carving every October and look at having tea lights in them and having them on my porch for Halloween. You and your partner could have a friendly competition and design awesome pumpkins prior to Halloween night! You could even do this at the same time as your movie marathon night!

You definitely do not need to be a kid to make Halloween crafts! Crafting is fun and therapeutic and lets you really embrace your creative side. I love making my own Halloween crafts and either giving them out to people or just displaying them in my home.

Halloween Home Decorating

You know that this blog is ALL about home decor and homemaking in general and I love decorating for Halloween! I love to keep a modern Halloween home decor theme and like to subtly decorate my home but if you love the Halloween colours then there are so many decorations that you can purchase from the Dollar Store or any local home decor or craft store!

Halloween Baking

Trick or treat isn’t a Halloween slogan for no reason! That’s right, Halloween is all about treats and what better than to bake and eat treats with your partner! If you’re not that big into being in the kitchen then you’ll love this list of 40+ Last-Minute Halloween Treat Ideas! There are so many easy treats that you can make and a lot requires little to no baking too. Alternatively, lots of businesses are releasing Halloween goodies so you can drop by your grocery shop or local dessert stores and purchase some yummy treats!

Halloween Corn Maze

I usually do corn mazes when I head to a pumpkin patch but I know that some farms do a big Halloween-themed one and it’s really spooky to do in the evenings! Corn mazes are so fun and can get tiring! Especially if you’re me and have no sense of direction haha! I love going through a corn maze with my husband! Well, technically, I basically just follow him!

Halloween-themed corn mazes are usually the most fun at night so be sure to be well bundled and wear a fun Halloween Jumper or Sweatshirt!

Halloween Themed Meal

This is something I do every year! It doesn’t have to be scary or gory but last year, I did Halloween pizzas which is basically pizzas I cut into pumpkin shapes then my husband and I each put our own toppings I put something green as the “pumpkin” stem and I cut out cheese jack-o-lantern faces. You can do this with quesadillas too! I easily just search up Halloween-themed dinners on Pinterest to find inspiration! You don’t need to be a kid to enjoy these! I celebrate every fun holiday there is out there!

Halloween Amusement Park

Like Disneyland, a lot of amusement parks change some of their attractions to Halloween-themed things! A fun date day is to visit an amusement park and participate in all the fun Halloween activities there is to offer! The rides and games are super fun as well as the yummy fair/carnival food!

Halloween Costumes

I have to admit, it’s been a while since I’ve dressed up! I usually dress up for work or school but not so much on Halloween nights or weeks prior. I love making my own costumes and having fun with them! Matching costumes are so clever and can really release your creative side! If you’re DIY-ing your costumes, a fabulous idea is to do them together! Buy a bunch of supplies and spend the night making them.

Halloween Ghost Tour

A lot of big cities offer tours for tourists and often offer Halloween Ghost Tours during September/October! I love these tours as you get to be with a group of people and walk around the city. I don’t know if I’ll ever go on one but they are excellent for couples who LOVE spooky adventures and travels. Who knows, maybe you’ll even get to meet a ghost!

Halloween Dancing (In Costumes)

I love dancing and it may not be for everyone but if you and your partner love dancing, a great idea is to find clubs or fun bars that have Halloween-themed dance nights! Come out, have a few drinks and dress in your costumes and dance the night away.

Halloween Bowling (In Costumes)

This one is definitely for me, My husband and I LOVE bowling and go often so bowling in our Halloween costumes is something that I look forward to doing this year. I’ve never done this but I already know how fun it will be!

Halloween Escape Room (In Costumes)

Escape rooms are so fun when you’re looking to think outside the box! I’ve been to super spooky escape rooms and think it would be perfect for Halloween weekend! Most escapes are for 2-6 people so it’ll be great to bring a small team with you to enjoy! Think of a strategy before and see who can do what and also wear costumes! I just did an escape room and had tons of fun. If you’re local to me, Exit Burnaby is excellent!
