HERE IS HOW TO MAKE GINGERBREAD CANDIED BACON:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
You can find the ingredients to make this Gingerbread Candied Bacon can be found at most grocery stores! During the holidays, gingerbread spice can be bought easily, but you can also make it from scratch by combining a bunch of spices together! I have a quick and easy Gingerbread Spice Mix you can make! Aside from this, you’ll of course need some bacon, brown sugar and maple syrup!
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this delicious holiday-inspired candied bacon are:
- Bacon (thick cut if you want it more chewy, regular thin cut if you like it more crispy!)
- Brown Sugar
- Gingerbread Spice Mix
- Maple Syrup
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
All you need is a baking rack, tray, silicone brush, aluminum foil and of course your measuring cups/spoons and a small bowl! This recipe is so amazing and so easy, so it doesn’t need a ton of equipment, which we love here!
The aluminum foil is also optional. I just like it for easy clean up!
Here are some of my Amazon kitchen favs!
CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?
For this recipe, since it’s super easy, there aren’t many ingredients that I would recommend changing, but some things that come to mind that may work are:
- Adding some chilli powder for a kick 🔥
- Adding thinly sliced jalapenos for spice again!
- Using honey instead of maple syrup
- Wrap the bacon strips around smokies or cocktail wieners!
WHAT DOES GINGERBREAD CANDIED BACON TASTE LIKE?
Gingerbread Candied Bacon tastes like the ultimate sweet-and-salty holiday treat. 🎄🥓✨
The bacon is crispy, smoky, and salty, while the gingerbread coating adds a caramelized layer of sweetness with warm spices like ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Every bite is crunchy, sticky, and cozy like classic candied bacon dressed up in full Christmas flavour. It’s addictive, festive, and totally unforgettable.
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
Gingerbread Candied Bacon doesn’t last long because it’s so addicting!! I’d be surprised if there are any leftovers…but here are the safe storage times:
- In the fridge: 3–4 days in an airtight container.
- At room temperature: best eaten the same day (since it contains meat and a sugary coating).
For best results, re-crisp it in the oven for a few minutes before serving.
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
I wanted to use my Gingerbread Spice Mix as much as possible and thought what I can do with this that’s kinda savoury! I’ve made so many sweet treats with gingerbread spice mix, and it’s time to try a savoury recipe! I thought of what I already had at home and knew that candied bacon was the move! So simple with only a few ingredients and will leave your guests wanting more every time!
ANY OTHER NOTES?
I use regular/thin bacon strips because I love crispy bacon over chewy bacon! If you want to use thicker-cut bacon, you may want to adjust the cook times slightly!
