Thanksgiving! A holiday that I know and love so much. I love the fact that Thanksgiving is all about spending time with family and eating and that’s it. Other holidays are very loaded with activities or gift giving but Thanksgiving is such about sitting at home and stuffing your faces with other people.

Since my husband and I got our own home, we’ve been hosting Thanksgiving. Our birthdays and wedding anniversary are around the week of Canadian Thanksgiving so we kind of do everything in one celebration.

I love all the foods involved in Thanksgiving especially the sides! I’ve also been to a lot of Thanksgiving dinners and have found the best food from people and I’m so impressed with it!

Do you usually host Thanksgiving? Or are you usually a guest? I’d love to know!

32+ Crowd-Pleasing Thanksgiving Sides You NEED To Make - pin 1

The usual Thanksgiving dinner spread is a turkey, some kind of potatoes, rolls, beans, corn and/or carrots, gravy and cranberry sauce. I love going all out for Thanksgiving and try and include as many side dishes as I can.

I like to now think that I’m a Thanksgiving dinner expert and for the most part, my guests leave happy and with containers of leftovers! I also get lots of questions about how I make things which I’m super happy about! I like to buy reusable take-out containers so that guests never have to worry about bringing them back.

I guess it’s a cultural thing but my parents are both from the Philippines and at every party no matter what kind, we’d bring home leftovers but usually in zip locks.

Do you bring home food from parties? What’s your favourite thing to bring home? I’d love to know!

HERE ARE 32+ CROWD-PLEASING THANKSGIVING SIDES:

Salads & Vegetables

Salads and vegetables are a must for side dishes on Thanksgiving! Unless you are having a fully vegan or vegetarian Thanksgiving, turkey is a big portion of the meal and you need some veggies to offset the amount of meat.

Fall Harvest Salad

My all-time favourite salad for Fall. This salad brings out all the fall flavours and has the best maple dressing. Your guests will love this!

Roasted Cauliflower

Cauliflower is a really great low-carb vegetable to have to balance out all the other yummy carbs you’ll be stuffing your face in! This recipe has my favourite combination of spices for cauliflower.

Lemon Butter Parmesan Asparagus

Mmm, asparagus! Lemon, garlic and parmesan complement this dark roasted vegetable so well.

Roasted Fall Vegetables

Every bite has a sweet and savoury element to it and is perfect for a Thanksgiving side!

Roasted Beets and Sweet Potatoes

Beets bring out a beautiful colour to the table alongside sweet potatoes!

This is my husband’s favourite side! He loves mushrooms so it’s a must for most of our dinners.

Bacon-wrapped asparagus would definitely be a heavier Thanksgiving side but still really great! Perfect if you have extra bacon strips from other recipes that you don’t use.

Balsamic Onions

Onions are perfect to bite through the heaviness of all the other Thanksgiving foods! Balsamic provides the perfect acidity.

Pasta & Potatoes

Pasta and potatoes… What kind of world would we live in without pasta and potatoes?! A must-have for every seasonal celebration!

Garlic Butter Mashed Potatoes

This recipe for Garlic Butter Mashed Potatoes is hands down the best I’ve ever had! If you’re not counting calories for Thanksgiving, this is a must!!
