One of my favourite things about fall is adding little seasonal touches throughout my home, and these DIY Fall and Halloween Mini Fridge Magnets are such a cute and inexpensive way to decorate the kitchen! Instead of buying new seasonal decor every year, I love finding small DIY projects that I can bring out again whenever fall rolls around.

These magnets are made using mini frames filled with printed fall and Halloween photos, then turned into fridge magnets with just a little hot glue. You can fill them with pumpkins, ghosts, vintage Halloween artwork, autumn landscapes, or even your own favourite fall photos!

They’re incredibly easy to make, completely customizable, and perfect if you love cozy little details around your home during spooky season. 🎃👻🍁

HERE IS HOW TO MAKE FALL AND HALLOWEEN MINI FRIDGE MAGNETS:

WHERE CAN YOU FIND THE MATERIALS TO MAKE DIY FALL AND HALLOWEEN MINI FRIDGE MAGNETS?

Most of the materials for these DIY fridge magnets can be found at dollar stores, craft stores, or online. I had mini gold frames from a previous Christmas ornament project I had just done, and I bought tiny black frames off of Amazon!

Mini frames are often available in craft, home decor, party favor, or miniature sections. You can also keep an eye out for inexpensive frames at thrift stores.

Small craft magnets and hot glue sticks can usually be found in the craft section. For the pictures, you can print your own images at home or have them printed at a local photo or printing shop.

WHAT ARE THE MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THESE DIY FALL AND HALLOWEEN MINI FRIDGE MAGNETS?

You only need a few materials to make this super cozy fall/Halloween craft:

  • Mini frames
  • Printed photos
  • Hot glue
  • Magnets

The fun part is choosing the pictures that go inside your frames! You can make every magnet different or choose photos with a similar colour palette for a more cohesive collection.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

For this DIY, you’ll need:

  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Pencil or pen, optional
  • Ruler, optional

The scissors are useful for trimming your printed pictures so they fit perfectly inside the mini frames. I honestly eyeballed the size; I knew my tiny frames were about 1×1″, so I printed photos around this size!

CAN I SUBSTITUTE ANY MATERIALS OUT?

Yes! This DIY is very easy to customize with materials you already have.

If you can’t find mini frames, try using miniature wooden frames, lightweight photo frames, unfinished craft frames, or even small decorative frames from thrift stores. You can even create your own miniature frames with random materials you already own!

Instead of printed photos, you can use:

  • Scrapbook paper
  • Vintage-inspired Halloween prints
  • Stickers
  • Old greeting cards
  • Magazine clippings
  • Your own drawings
  • Family fall or Halloween photos
  • Decorative napkins

You can also use a strong craft adhesive instead of hot glue to attach the magnets. Just make sure the adhesive is suitable for both the frame material and the magnet.

DOES THIS DIY LAST TO USE FOR THE FOLLOWING YEARS?

Yes! One of the best things about these fridge magnets is that you can store and reuse them every fall and Halloween.

Keep them somewhere dry and protected when they’re not being used so the frames and pictures don’t get damaged. I recommend wrapping them in tissue paper or storing them together in a small container with your other seasonal decorations.

If the magnet eventually comes loose from the back, you can simply reattach it with another small amount of hot glue.

If you want this to be extra long-lasting, I would recommend laminating the photos! Of course, if they are paper and they accidentally get wet, the photo will get ruined, but if you laminate them, then it essentially makes them waterproof, so they will be extra durable!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PUT TOGETHER?

These DIY Fall and Halloween Mini Fridge Magnets should take around 20–30 minutes to make, depending on how many you’re creating.

If your photos are already printed, the project comes together especially quickly. Most of your time will be spent choosing your pictures, trimming them to size, and arranging everything.

You can also make a larger batch at once and slowly build a whole collection of seasonal magnets!

INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS DIY?

There are so many cute directions you can take these magnets!

For a cozy fall theme, try pictures of pumpkins, autumn leaves, apple orchards, cozy cottages, mushrooms, warm drinks, or vintage fall illustrations.

For Halloween, some of my favorite ideas include:

  • Jack-o-lanterns
  • Friendly ghosts
  • Black cats
  • Bats
  • Haunted houses
  • Skeletons
  • Witches
  • Vintage Halloween artwork
  • Candy corn
  • Spooky landscapes

I especially love the idea of making these look like tiny framed pieces of seasonal artwork displayed right on the fridge. You can choose images that match the rest of your fall decor or mix different styles for a more playful, collected look.

You could even make personalized versions using photos from pumpkin patches, Halloween costumes, fall family photos, or other favourite autumn memories.

I actually bought my artwork from Etsy! I love purchasing cheap digital art from other sellers! These are the exact prints I purchased:

STEPS TO PUT TOGETHER THESE DIY FALL AND HALLOWEEN MINI FRIDGE MAGNETS:

1. Choose Your Mini Frames

Start by deciding how many fall and Halloween mini fridge magnets you’d like to make and choosing your mini frames.

You can use matching frames for a cohesive look or mix different shapes, sizes, and styles for a more eclectic collection.

2. Choose Your Fall and Halloween Pictures

Pick the photos or artwork you’d like to display inside each frame.

Print your images slightly larger than the frame opening so you have enough room to trim and adjust them.

3. Trim the Pictures

Trim the picture with scissors until it fits the frame.

4. Assemble the Mini Frames & Hot Glue The Photos

Place each picture and hot glue the photo to the frame.

Take a moment to make sure the picture is straight and positioned exactly how you’d like it before moving on.

Be careful when working with hot glue, especially since these frames and magnets are small.

5. Attach the Magnets

OPTIONAL: I add an extra piece of cardstock to the back of frame and photo to ensure that the magnet will be secured.

Add a small amount of hot glue to the back of the mini frame and carefully press the magnet into place.

Depending on the size and weight of your frame, you may need more than one magnet to hold it securely.

7. Let the Glue Cool

Place the magnets face-down and allow the hot glue to cool and harden completely before putting them on your fridge.

8. Decorate Your Fridge!

Once everything is secure, arrange your new Fall and Halloween Mini Fridge Magnets on your refrigerator. 🎃🍂

Mix pumpkins, ghosts, autumn artwork, and other seasonal pictures together to create a cute little gallery that you can enjoy throughout the entire fall season!

Thank you for reading to the end of this post! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Have fun! 🧡
