I swear, every time the combination of garlic and sesame oil hit my lips, my soul is shook haha. Okay, that may be an over exaggeration but it is truly one of my favorite flavour combos! I made this easy single serve garlic and sesame dressing that’s perfect to use as a marinade or just on top of salads or veggies! I like to use this for refreshing cucumber salads too!

HERE IS HOW TO MAKE GARLIC SESAME DRESSING:

WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?

The ingredients to make this delicious garlic sesame dressing can be found at your local grocery store! If you don’t have Asian dressing at your grocery store, you may run into issues sourcing some ingredients but most ingredients should be very easy to find! From the pantry or non-perishable aisles, you can find sesame oil, honey, soy sauce, olive oil, rice vinegar, and sesame seeds! Other than that, you’ll want some fresh garlic from the produce aisle!

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?

Here is what you’ll need to make this easy and delicious dressing!

  • Sesame Oil
  • Honey
  • Soy Sauce
  • Olive Oil
  • Rice Vinegar
  • Garlic
  • Sesame Seeds

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

The lovely thing about this recipe is that you can easily whip this up! I like to add everything to a mason jar and shake it up! You’ll want mason jars with lids, measuring cups and spoons and depending on whats easiest for you, you can either mince your garlic with a chopping board and knife or use a garlic press.

Here are some of my favorite Amazon kitchen items!

CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?

You of course can substitute or add anything you’d like to this! I have measured this recipe to my tastes but if there is a certain ingredient that you want to add more of, please do! Here are some substitutions and additions that you can add to this recipe:

  • Adding extra garlic
  • Adding some softened peanut butter or crushed peanuts
  • Adding some hoisin sauce
  • Adding fresh herbs like parsley, cilantro or dill
  • Adding some fresh chopped green onions
  • Adding a pop of citrus like fresh lemon juice
  • Adding some chilli oil or chilli flakes

WHAT DOES GARLIC SESAME DRESSING TASTE LIKE?

Oh my, this is so hard for me to answer because every time I think of this dressing, it truly just hits my soul haha. I love garlic, sesame and soy sauce and this dressing has all 3 flavours so to say that this is my perfect dressing is an understatement! This garlic sesame dressing has a rich, nutty, and slightly savory flavor with a perfect balance of umami, sweetness, and tanginess. The roasted sesame gives it a deep, toasty taste, while the garlic adds a bold, slightly pungent kick.

HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?

Since it has rice vinegar, it can keep for a long time! This recipe is quite small though so it generally lasts me about 5-7 days. I like to make chickpea salads and use this dressing and it holds really well! Remember to smell before use to ensure that it’s still good and keep in an airtight container. This recipe is super easy to whip up so don’t worry about making a huge batch!

INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?

I love having salads for lunch because they’re so light and easy to make! I do feel the afternoon slump so having a lighter lunch has been great for me to feel fueled and energized to continue on with my day! I really love Asian flavours so this garlic sesame dressing was a no-brainer! I measured out the ingredients and now have a go-to dressing recipe for life!

ANY OTHER NOTES?

No other notes! Enjoy 🙂
