If I had to choose one thing to never live without, I’d probably say crunchy food. (sorry babe, if you’re reading this but I mean, you know)

Jokes aside, I love crunch in my food and I will literally put anything in the oven to broil or pop in the airfryer.

I make a version of healthier crunchy things every week whether it be chickpeas, kale, popcorn, etc. I’d say I do chickpeas most often as it’s super easy and last me a little longer. I feel like whenever I have kale chips I can’t stop and end up eating everything in one sitting! Whereas since chickpeas are full of protein, a little goes a long way.

Do you ever feel like you need to have something sweet or salty just to satiate yourself after a meal? I usually never have a full plate of something after dinner but I’ll have a bite of a brownie or a handful of almonds or chickpeas before I leave the kitchen.

Have you ever done your own crunchy chickpea recipe? I’d love to know below!

Crunchy Roasted Cheesy Ranch Chickpeas - Pin1

I’ve done the ranch way of crunchy chickpeas for a while now but it just now dawned on me that cheesy ranch exists and I could make it so easily!

In my household, we love cheese seasoning on fries and popcorn and often have it!

I’m a big fan of trying lots of different seasonings and spice blends because I get bored of food flavours very easily so I have tons of different ones at all times!

What your favorite blend of spices? Let me know so I can test out new ones too!

HERE IS HOW TO MAKE Crunchy Roasted Cheesy Ranch Chickpeas:

WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?

Everything in these Crunchy Roasted Cheesy Ranch Chickpeas is available at your local grocery store! I believe the dried herbs are pretty common too so most households have these in the pantry. I use the Kernel’s cheese powder which is my absolute fav seasoning! If you’re feeling the need to take the easy way out, you can also just use a specific ranch seasoning packet too!

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?

The actual only ingredient for these are chickpeas and olive oil to crunch them up and everything else is the seasonings for them!

The ingredients to make Crunchy Roasted Cheesy Ranch Chickpeas are:

  • Chickpeas
  • Olive Oil
  • Garlic Powder
  • Dried Dill
  • Dried Thyme
  • Dried Minced Onion
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Cheese Powder

Note: Toss the cheese powder with the chickpeas at the end!

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

With these Crunchy Roasted Cheesy Ranch Chickpeas, you really don’t need much! You’ll need a cookie sheet, parchment paper and an oven. You’ll need a separate bowl to mix everything together really well and that’s pretty much it! The clean-up is also very minimal after making these which is always a plus in my mind!

CAN I SUB ANYTHING OUT?

There’s nothing that you can really sub out in this Crunchy Roasted Cheesy Ranch Chickpeas recipe. I would say if chickpeas aren’t your thing, you can try lentils or use this seasoning to make kale chips! The seasonings should stay as it’s a pretty standard ranch herb and seasoning mix! You can omit the cheese powder and use nutritional yeast to make it vegan! As for the olive oil, you can use avocado oil or even coconut oil but just make sure to watch them so they don’t burn easily.

WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?

It tastes so good! Ranch and cheesy goodness in a small crunchy snack! It almost also tastes like sour cream and onion chips which are my favourite. The cheese powder really takes these chickpeas to the next level! They are salty just as you’d find chips are but that’s one thing I love about them. You can definitely adjust the salt and seasonings to your liking of course!

ANY OTHER NOTES?

Store in an airtight container for up to about 2 days! These lose their crunchiness after a few days haha just like chips! try and not to open the container too often if you can help it.

Ensure that each chickpea is coated in oil. That’s the key to really crisping them up! So take your time mixing them before putting them on the baking sheet.

Again like every recipe I post, our taste buds may not be at the same level so feel free to adjust it! You can alternatively just roasted the chickpeas in olive oil and toss everything together after as you have more control over the flavour.

It’s also best to leave the cheese powder till they are out of the oven and have cooled for a few minutes or the powder becomes sticky!

Crunchy Cheesy Ranch Chickpeas

These Crunchy Cheesy Ranch Chickpeas are the best snack that is the perfect mix of cheesy goodness, tangy ranch and crunch! You'll be making these at least once a week!

Keyword Crunchy Roasted Cheesy Ranch Chickpeas

My favourite snack at the moment and I literally have a handful every day! I always have 2-3 cans of chickpeas in my pantry so it’s just super handy to have especially when I’m not in a chip-eating mood.

These keep me full whenever I need a snack in between meals or want something in my stomach before I workout. It’s not heavy but full of protein which is the best!

I’ll try and post my other favs like Cajun and cinnamon sugar later this year! So many ideas and so little time but I love that.

What seasonings do you put on your chickpeas? Let me know in the comments below!

Lynn
