Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to eat healthier? I know mine is! Not solely to lose weight but definitely to consume more nutrients and keep a healthy immune system!

Healthy snacks don’t have to break the bank and have to be too complicated. The most important thing about having healthy snacks is the fact that you can curb your appetite instead of having something bad for you.

6 Easy Affordable Healthy Snacks - Pin 1

I wanted to share some of my favourite healthy snacks. I am a big fan of junk food I’m not going to lie but I’m also a big fan of balance (libra over here)!

Junk food definitely does not fill me up whereas when I have a healthier snack I feel fuller longer. These healthy snacks will sustain you throughout the day and won’t give you a sugar crash.

HERE are 6 Easy Affordable Healthy Snacks:

Apples and Peanut Butter

My most favourite snack and it’s easy to have everyday! The trick is to heat the peanut butter for like 10 seconds before spreading onto the apple slices.

Cucumbers, Cream Cheese and Hot Sauce

This actually works best if you scoop the cucumber insides out before you put the cream cheese and hot sauce! It holds a lot better. I’ve also seen people put everything but the bagel seasoning instead of hot sauce.

Homemade Kale Chips

Back in March 2020, when everyone was making bread, I was making batches of kale chips. I’m not kidding, I went crazy and tried so many different seasonings. So easy to make at home too!

This is a similar to what I usually make : Kale Chips

Kale Chips

Banana “Nice” Cream

Amazing for ice cream cravings! Frozen bananas in the processor and bam! A delicious guilt-free treat.

Mashed Avocado On Top Of A Rice Cracker

Avocado toast without the toast? So good and I love the crunch of a rice cracker! Simple seasonings like olive oil, salt, pepper is all you need! Add a pinch of chilli flakes for a kick.

Boiled Egg With Soy Sauce

Usually at Asian restaurants they have marinated soft boiled eggs and if you’ve had that, it is so good! I just like to boil my egg, cut it down the middle and put a teaspoon of soy sauce.

Boiled Egg With Soy Sauce

These healthy snacks are so good and I have one of these everyday! Apples with peanut butter is probably my fav snack and reminds me of coming home from school in elementary and watching Sabrina the teenage witch.

Let me know in the comments below what you would try and what’s your fav healthy snack!

Lynn

    Bernie,

  10. Ooh these are some interesting options for healthy snacks! I think cutting up apples to dip in something is a great snack, although I usually go for chocolate spread which obviously defeats the point of a healthy snack, haha! I LOVE doing that cucumber thing and adding some salmon on top too! x

  11. The banana ice cream sounds glorious! I love cucumber and cream cheese and it’s something I’ve not had in ages, so I’ll definitely have to make that again. Thanks for sharing these awesome recipes x

  12. I absolutely LOVE this post!! I am always on the look out for new snacks to try. Having a stomach condition I tend to snack more than have full on meals. I’d try all of these except the kale one, I’m not a fan of kale, though apples and pb is one of my faves too!! X

  13. These all look so good! I’m feeling a bit hungry now haha. I’ve always wanted to make kale chips, but I never seem to have any on hand 🙁

But I’ll try warming the peanut butter, this time. I’ve never done it before, but it sounds delicious. And the rice crackers with avocado, is something I gotta try. Thanks for sharing these healthy snacks!

  14. I have not tried boiled eggs and soy sauce..i had tried it with adobo but not soy sauce on its own.

  15. I find myself craving for snacks this winter. Maybe it’s the cold or the lockdown or something else but making it healthy sounds like a solid plan!

  16. I am like a rice cake, apple slices, wafer thin ham monster when I’m trying to eat healthily! Anything that is convenient, tasty but not laced with chocolate works for me!

  17. My Dad always eats apple and peanut butter- it’s not for me as I’m not a fan of either haha but it’s such a healthy snack idea 🙂 I love all these choices, I’m always snacking so I should definitely swap out my chocolate bars for something a little more healthy and filling x

  18. I love cucumbers with hot sauce. I will have to try it with the addition of the cream cheese, which I’m sure is fabulous.

  19. I really need to improve with my healthy eating. I snack on rubbish so these healthy snacks are perfect.

    The Kale chips look banging

  20. It’s always a bummer that I have so many food allergies because it prevents me from enjoying most “healthy” snacks. I can do the kale chips and the cucumbers, but aside from that – all the others have foods I’m allergic to. So sad! Buuuut I know my husband would love several of them, so I’ll be passing along the ideas!

  21. Apples with peanut butter is one of my favorite healthy snacks. So simple yet oh so delicious. I’ve tried kale chips before but found them to taste a bit odd. I would have never thought to add cream cheese and hot sauce to cucumbers, I’m quite intrigued by that and I feel like that is something my husband would really enjoy.

  22. These are great ideas for healthy snacks!
I’ve made banana ice cream before & I was surprised at well it turned out! I also need to try making kale chips & see if like boiled eggs with soy sauce.

  23. So many beautiful recipes and ideas! I’m obsessed with apple and peanut butter, love eggs etc too! So helpful xx

  24. I love my greens but have always been challenged by kale. Kale crisps, is that a bit like the crispy seaweed you get from your local Chinese takeaway? If so, it’s worth trying.

  25. I never thought or heard about the cream cheese, cucumber, and hot sauce combination… but you have peaked my interest and the picture makes it look delicious! LOL

  26. YUM!!! I am always on the lookout for healthy snacks at home… especially being in lockdown. I am so sad I don’t like eating boiled eggs… they are such a easy way to get protein in!

  27. Apples and peanut butter are one of my favourite snacks too! I’m always so bad at coming up with healthy snack ideas, so this is a helpful list 🙂
