HERE IS HOW TO MAKE EGGNOG HOT CHOCOLATE:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this delicious holiday drink can be found at most grocery stores in North America! Eggnog is not usually available all year round so you’ll only be able to make it every year from September onwards so stock up! Aside from eggnog, you’ll only need a few other ingredients which is much easier to find! You can use the milk of your choice, unsweetened cocoa powder, sugar, salt to make the drink then whipped cream and some ground nutmeg to go on top!
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
Here are the ingredients to make this delicious eggnog hot chocolate!
- Eggnog
- Milk
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- Granulated Sugar
- Flaky Salt
- Whipped Cream
- Nutmeg
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
This recipe is super easy to make but I like to do everything over the stove with a whisk! You can alternatively just mix everything and heat it up in the microwave too. Cocoa powder is quite difficult to stir so I definitely recommend having a whisk. Aside from that, you’ll need some measuring cups and spoons or you can taste test as you go!
Here are some of my Amazon favorite kitchen items!
CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?
Of course you can! I absolutely encourage using this as inspo to recreate the recipe to your liking! Here are a few ideas you can do to change up the recipe!
- Use other cocoa powder or even your choice of chocolate! White and dark are great!
- Make fresh whipped cream and add nutmeg inside 😋
- Add some cinnamon if you love cinnamon!
- Add some marshmallows or chocolate shavings on top
- Can be spiked with some Kahula or Baileys!
WHAT DOES EGGNOG HOT CHOCOLATE TASTE LIKE?
Eggnog hot chocolate tastes like the holidays melted into a mug. 🎄☕✨ It’s rich, creamy, and extra cozy and the chocolate flavour gives it a deep, velvety sweetness, while the eggnog adds a warm spiced flavour with hints of nutmeg and vanilla. Together, they create a super smooth, decadent drink that’s sweeter, thicker, and more festive than regular hot cocoa. It’s like sipping a chocolatey, holiday-infused hug.
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
If you want to make a bigger batch, then store it in the fridge, that’s totally okay! I recommend letting it completely cool before putting in the fridge and just keeping it for 3 days. I do think that it’s super easy to make so you don’t need to pre-make this! You can whip this up within 5 minutes 🙂
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
Yes! Hot cocoa and Christmas rom-coms are what I look forward to every year! I decided that this year I was going to be more adventurous with my hot chocolate, and I’m so happy with this! I’m happy to report I have so far had 2 hot chocolates and watched 2 Christmas movies so far hehe!
ANY OTHER NOTES?
No other notes for this one! Enjoy 🙂
