2021 Self Care Must-Have’s

Read more for all the details on 2021 Self Care Must-Have’s.

Of course, 2021 rolls in and we’re still stuck at home. My heart goes out to everyone in UK since there’s another lockdown. I know how hard it must be. I feel such isolation at home as well. I’ve been laid off since August and it’s been so difficult to find another job. I’ve been putting all my time into blogging as I haven’t called for any interviews. My field is obviously struggling the most as I was in the Tourism Industry.

I’ve been trying to lift my spirits up here and there and I’ve made some of the best investments so far in my self-care. I truly believe that at this time it’s super important to invest in making staying home as comfy as it can be.

I really enjoyed this post as well from my friend, Karalee called How I Practice Self Care as a Mother!

2021 Self Care Must-Have's - Pin 1

I’ve tried a lot of fun things off of Amazon that I now love and will be repurchasing. I wanted to share some of my favourite affordable things I’ve purchased that make life so much better in hope that it’ll make your life better too! These make really good self-care gifts as well but overall are essential for personal self-care!

Although, retail therapy solves my blues in the short term (in my opinion), it’s important to focus on reflection and self discovery often as well.

Remember self-care is something different to different people!

  • Here is my list of 2021 self care must- have’s:
    • Essential Oils
    • Face Masks & Eye Patches
    • Adult Coloring Books
    • Journal
    • Mani/Pedi Set
    • Gaming Accesories
    • Candles
    • Slippers
    • Coffee/Tea Set
    • Snacks
    • Yoga Mat
    • Socks

Here is my list of 2021 self care must- have’s:

Essential Oils

I bought the Christmas Wreath one last winter and it makes the house smell amazing! On regular days I love lavender and peppermint. I have yet to try orange/lemon but will as soon as I run out of the ones I own now.

Face Masks & Eye Patches

Love a nice face mask at the end of the night especially since the winter makes my skin so dry. I really want to try Grace & Stella! I know they are a local company but they also ship to the UK and USA. I’ve heard really great things about their products!

Adult Coloring Books

I find adult colouring books perfect for people who feel like they’ve lost control in their life. Colouring is a very controlled and focused activity especially if you’re a little bit of a perfectionist!

Journal

I vow every year to do a journal and this year I kind of started one. It’s not as pretty as the bullet journals I’ve seen but I write in my daily affirmations which is really nice.

Mani/Pedi Set

I don’t know about you but I’m terrible at doing my nails! These kits make it much easier for me to do my nails. They’re a little expensive but I think the investment goes a long way. Every time I get my nails done, I spend a good $60!

Gaming Accesories

I come from a family of gamers so I know they’ve pretty much invested in gaming accessories as if they were full-time streaming! My husband almost has a full gaming set up!

Candles

Need I say more? Candles make my night! They are just so dang expensive. I started making my own in between my seasonal Bath and Body Works haul since I burn my candles pretty much every night!

Slippers

My house is super cold and I like to save electricity. I love having cozy slippers on my feet at all times.

Coffee/Tea Set

I’ve been trying to save money and make my coffee at home and only have treat coffee’s once every week or so! What perfect way to spice it up by trying out different coffees/teas every day! I like to change my creamers and syrup flavours.

Snacks

Okay, I can’t live without snacks and here’s a few of my favourites!

Yoga Mat

This ones perfect for working out at home. I love the white and beige one if you know me! I still have a fairly decent yoga mat but when I get my next one it’s going to be that one below V

Socks

Socks are super cozy if slippers aren’t your thing. I love that these have like sticky pads so you won’t slip if you’ve got hardwood floors!

I hope this was a useful list and gives you inspiration on what to splurge on next! We’re getting there and slowly but surely everything will be amazing. I feel it in my bones! I can’t wait to travel again and go to stores with ease.

Xo,

Lynn

I have never really been into gaming, however, 2020 reintroduced me to my love of The Sims. Now, when I need to just escape from work and stress and everything else, I log onto Sims 4 and play for a bit. I have currently discovered the ‘challenges’ that people create and share online, so I’ve been working my way through one of them lol

  10. Clarissa says

    January 7, 2021 at

Great suggestions Lynn! I think I could use a new yoga mat and journal!

I don’t think I realized that you were in tourism? What and where? I work(ed) in tourism, and so did my partner. We’re in Hawaii and have been laid off since March. I’m pretty sure my company is not going to survive. Hers is hoping to open back up in June when hopefully travel is allowed more with more people being vaccinated.

    • lynnmumbingmejia says

      January 7, 2021 at

      Thanks Clarissa!

Yes! I graduated from post-secondary with a Tourism Marketing degree. My career path has been a rollercoaster but I basically was not working in the industry when I got laid off. I was just working as office admin for an HVAC company. I promised myself that in 2020, I would quit and get back into Tourism but then I got laid off and understandably, haven’t been able to find a job in Tourism! I was hoping to find something in accommodations and still hoping for this summer! I am focused on waiting until travel opens up again and blogging in the meantime 🙂 xo

      • Clarissa says

        January 7, 2021 at

Ah I gotcha! Yeah tourism is a tough industry right now. We’re hoping to get back to work in May/June as well. Hopefully by then a lot of people will be vaccinated and it will be back to business as usual once travel resumes. Until then, I’m with you – blog it is!

In fact, only the essential oils, mani/pedi set, and face masks are the ones I don’t have. So I will have to up my self-care game by getting some of those.

Sorry to hear that you lost your job because of the pandemic. Actually I lost my job before the pandemic and then we went into lockdown. So I was home for 7 months and I finally was able to work again in august. So I feel you. I was there too. I like adult colouring books. Colouring mandalas helped me calm down when I was home and felt isolated. Thank you for sharing these self-care ideas. Your blog is great. I wish you the best!
