Looking to add some heat to your seafood repertoire? Look no further than Air Fryer Buffalo Shrimp! This dish combines the succulence of shrimp with the fiery kick of buffalo sauce, creating a flavor explosion that’s perfect for any occasion and is only a few ingredients!

Using the air fryer to cook shrimp yields wonderfully crispy results without the need for excessive oil, making it a healthier alternative to traditional frying methods. The rapid circulation of hot air ensures that the shrimp are cooked evenly and retain their natural juiciness, while still achieving that satisfying crunch on the outside.

The star of this dish is undoubtedly the buffalo sauce, which brings a bold and tangy flavor to the table. Made from a combination of hot sauce, butter, vinegar, and seasonings, buffalo sauce adds a spicy and savory element that complements the sweetness of the shrimp perfectly.

Whether you’re serving up these Air Fryer Buffalo Shrimp as a party appetizer, game day snack, or weeknight dinner, they’re sure to be a crowd-pleaser!

HERE IS HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER BUFFALO SHRIMP:

WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?

You can find the ingredients to make Air Fryer Buffalo Shrimp at your local grocery store or supermarket. Look for fresh or frozen shrimp, buffalo sauce, corn starch, oil spray and any other seasonings or toppings you prefer. Alternatively, you can also order ingredients online from various retailers and have them delivered to your doorstep for added convenience.

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?

The ingredients to make these buffalo shrimps are:

  • Shrimp
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Buffalo Sauce
  • Corn Starch
  • Oil

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

This recipe is not only a few ingredients that you most likely already have but it also uses not a lot of equipment and of course, we love that here! You’ll need an air fryer however, if you do want to deep fry this, you definitely can! Aside from an air fryer, you’ll just want some mixing/prep bowls as well as some tongs to flip the shrimps with so they stay nice and crispy!

Here is my current air fryer and some of my Amazon favs!

CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?

This buffalo shrimp recipe is SO EASY that there isn’t really that much you can substitute however, here are a few of my suggestions!

If corn starch isn’t available to you, you can use potato starch or even regular white flour. The key to keep things crispy is making sure after you’ve coated the shrimp in the corn starch or whatever substitute you use, you light brush every piece front and back with oil! Without oil, it will not crisp up.

If salt, pepper and garlic powder are too bland for you, you can add any other seasonings you want! I like to keep things super simple with my recipes and leave creativity for everyone to explore with their cooking journey!

If shrimp isn’t your thing, you can try this out with the protein of your choice. Just remember it will take longer to cook so adjust your cooking times! Shrimp cooks very quickly and does not need a long time to cook.

Aside from this, I use olive oil to brush the shrimp pieces but you can use avocado, vegetable, sunflower, or canola oil! Basically, any oil that you enjoy!

WHAT DOES AIR FRYER BUFFALO SHRIMP TASTE LIKE?

Air Fryer Buffalo Shrimp offers a delightful combination of flavours. The shrimp are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with a zesty kick from the buffalo sauce. The tangy buffalo sauce adds a spicy and savory taste, complemented by hints of garlic, butter, and vinegar. It’s a satisfying dish with a perfect balance of heat and tanginess, sure to entice your taste buds with every bite.

HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?

I highly recommend eating this immediately! Anything crispy is of course always good fresh, however, Air Fryer Buffalo Shrimp typically lasts for 2-3 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. If you do plan to meal prep this or have lots of leftovers, I would recommend reheating this in the air fryer for a few minutes so that it can still be a little bit crispy!

INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?

When I was a little girl, my dad and I would often get Dairy Queen as a treat! We loved sharing a popcorn shrimp basket and I remember my dad would always ask for buffalo sauce on the side! Now that I cook my own food as an adult, I always remember the little treats that I use to have and am happy that I am able to try to recreate it without 1. breaking the bank to get take out everytime and 2. in a healthier version!

Of course, I still go to DQ when I can for a treat and some fries but it’s great having substitutions that can fill the craving for a little while!

ANY OTHER NOTES?

No other notes for this one! They are super addicting so beware! I’m ashamed to admit this but I definitely eat most if not all, of it in one sitting haha!
