What platforms can I sell on?

If you’ve got your own domain, you can use your own website. If you don’t you can sell on:

  • Etsy
  • Shopify
  • Amazon
  • Gumroad
  • Facebook Marketplace
  • Craiglist
  • eBay

How do I make my products?

Once you’ve picked a craft that you enjoy making or you’re passionate about, the next step is to focus on quality and which styles or specific items you want to list and sell! You’ll have to see if you can get some materials at a wholesale price instead of retail price on Amazon, Alibaba or other wholesale websites.

If buying wholesale is too much for a big step to take, you can always start small and buy from your local craft shops and price accordingly til you feel more confident to invest more capital and purchase wholesale!

You’ll need to set up a small area in your home where you can securely store the products you make as well as any shipping boxes, labels, packaging and supplies. I suggest getting a bunch of clear bins that you can just stack on the side.

Clear bins help you see the stock of all your products so you know when to get some more.

What should I keep in mind when I start a craft business?

Keep in mind that every city has different business policies so make sure to read up on how to register your business, declare your income, all the shipping details, how long supplies take to deliver, marketing, and overall how much time it will take.

Where can I buy supplies?

You can literally search up on Google, x wholesale and find a ton of businesses that sell supplies. Alternatively, the most popular shops to purchase supplies are:

  • Amazon
  • Aliexpress
  • Alibaba
  • Tundra
  • DHGate
  • Michaels

How do I market my products?

Now that you’re taken the leap and are reading 20+ Awesome Crafts To Sell In 2021. It’s time to hustle and start learning how to make this dream come to life!

Marketing plays such a huge part in promoting and selling your products so you’ll have to be on top of the latest marketing trends and strategies! It may seem super overwhelming but I promise you, you can do it!

Social media plays a huge part in promotion so ensuring your branding is aligned as well as sharing photos/videos to build an audience is so important!

Popular platforms to promoting your business are:

These are some great ideas. I used to sell knitwear, like scarves and hats. I also sold quilts for a while. You’re right about wedding stuff selling really well. Baby stuff, or baby shower gifts, is also a solid choice.

Lately I’ve been thinking about making journals to sell, but it’s still just a daydream at the moment. I wish I could draw…Journals with cool, custom covers would be amazing.
