This post is all about 3 Wedding Planning Things I Absolutely Miss | AD

It’s been 2 years since my wedding in 2019 and it’s been magical being married to my best friend and soulmate.

As a little girl, I dreamed of a gorgeous wedding and although it was nothing like I envisioned it, it was perfect for me and my husband. We have been dating for 6 years (high school sweethearts) and were engaged for 6 months before we had our wedding!

People thought I was crazy for trying to plan a wedding in 6 months but I had this strong intuition and feeling that September 2019 was the date for us so I pushed for it and given the events of 2020, looking back I’m so glad I did!

We had a two-day wedding and of course, had two different outfits and venues. The first day was an intimate ceremony with just my closest family and friends and we had a wonderful time and a long photoshoot around the city.

The next day was the reception where everyone and their mom were invited and we partied till the next morning! Both were days to remember but had lots of hiccups. 2 years later, I miss wedding planning and would love to do it all over again. I’m nudging my husband for a vow renewal every 5 years haha 

Any excuse for a party! Wish me luck!

Wedding Dress & Shoe Shopping

Out of the whole wedding, I definitely spent the most time picking out my dress and shoes. I had a Fall wedding so I wanted to have a dress with sleeves and one without and obviously 2 pairs of gorgeous shoes to go with it!

Up2step has the most beautiful selection of shoes that’ll make any woman fall in love! They are on point with trendy shoes as well as being affordable and having timeless pieces. There really is a shoe for everyone! From everyday casual to your wedding shoes, don’t be surprised when you’ve got a full cart sooner than later!

If you’ve been a fan of the blog, you’d know that my style for myself and my home is very neutral and simple and I love that no matter what the theme of your wedding is, you’ll be able to find the perfect white heels for your perfect day.

Aside from white stilettos, you can also match your wedding dress with silver glitter heels or a shorter pair of heels like kitten-heel wedding shoes! I used beautiful white heels for the ceremony then used kitten heels for my after-party reception so I could dance the night away!

Lots of time with Friends and Family

This is more of a selfish point but I absolutely adored that my family and friends spent so much time with me in the months/weeks leading up to the wedding. I had my bridesmaids at my house every week DIYing my invites, learning a dance we performed, making giveaways, got lots of take out and just hung out/spent time with each other.

 I had lots of family come from all over the world and spend the week with us. It was such a nice end to 2019. We were just so filled with love and light during our engagement. I truly miss it and have been nagging someone new in the family to get married!! 

Savour every single moment you get with your loved ones because your wedding is most likely one of the only times where everyone you love and care for near and far are in the same room together!

Catering menu and Cake Tasting

Last but not least, catering menu and cake tasting! Food, cake and drinks were not something we cheaped out on for our wedding. We went all out and I loved every minute of planning what my lovely guests were going to be enjoying at our wedding! 

I got so many messages about my caterers and my overall wedding afterwards so I was happy to provide some recommendations! We ate at a lot of restaurants too before deciding what food we’re serving our guests and we got mini cupcakes to test out all the cake flavours. I had like 20 mini cupcakes in one sitting haha.

Our wedding planning was such a quick process and I miss it so much! I can’t wait to be a bridesmaid for one of my girlfriends or cousins soon so I could (kinda) re-live it with them and treat them like queens!

    I cobbled together my wedding in less than two weeks years ago, so there really wasn’t a lot of planning that went into it. We didn’t have any money, so I catered it myself, and people raved about the recipes for years – even after I was divorced!
    I have a few things planned for my next wedding, should God bless me with the right man. For example, my wedding vows are already written, and I plan to have the smallest wedding possible. I want to plan a big party with my husband and family and friends for our tenth anniversary, because then we’ll really have something to celebrate.!

    I have catered at some really lovely weddings over the years and can imagine the planning must be as enjoyable as experiencing the actual day. The shoe site sounds amazing even for me to check out; I would love to find a pair of affordable, low heels or boots that are not too dressy to wear often.

    this post came at the perfect time. i just said yes to the dress and my wedding is in may. although i’ve been engaged since may 2021, we just started planning a few months ago so that 6-7 month planning timeline is relatable to me. it has been stressful but doable for sure. next steps are finding my shoes and jewelry.

    I miss it too! My absolute favorite was spending time with family and friends. I have often thought about how cool it was that everyone we love was in the same room even if only for a few hours. I would give almost anything to experience that again. Wedding planning was so fun! I agree!

Asian Sesame Vermicelli Salad 🥗 This Asian Sesam Asian Sesame Vermicelli Salad 🥗 

This Asian Sesame Vermicelli Salad is light, refreshing, and packed with flavor! Tender vermicelli noodles are tossed with crisp veggies and a savory sesame dressing for an easy, vibrant dish that’s perfect for lunches, meal prep, or summer gatherings.

INGREDIENTS
* 3 Bundles Vermicelli about 150g uncooked
* 1 Cup Purple Cabbage thinly shredded 
* 1 Cup Red Peppers thinly shredded 
* 1 Cup Carrots thinly shredded 
* 1/2 Cup Edamame
* 2 Stalks Green Onion thinly sliced 

Sauce
* 1 Clove Garlic grated
* 2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
* 1 tsp Sesame Oil
* 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
* 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
* 1 Tbsp Rice Vinegar

INSTRUCTIONS
* Cook the vermicelli noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse under cold water.
* In a large bowl, combine the cooked vermicelli, cabbage, red bell pepper, carrot, edamame, and green onions.
* In a small bowl, whisk together garlic, sesame oil, sesame seeds, soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar until well combined.
* Pour the sauce over the salad and toss until evenly coated.
* Chill in the fridge before serving for extra flavor for minimally 12 hours! Enjoy!

Have you ever tried Costco’s almond poppy seed muffins? If you have, this is a copycat version of it! It’s my fav muffin and I knew I had to recreate it at home!

These Poppy Seed Almond Muffins are soft, fluffy, and bursting with sweet almond flavor. With a tender crumb and delicate crunch from the poppy seeds, they’re the perfect cozy bakery-style treat for breakfast, snacking, or coffee breaks.

INGREDIENTS
* 2 1/4 Cups Flour
* 1/2 tsp Salt
* 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
* 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
* 3/4 Cup Oil 
* 1 Cup White Sugar
* 2 Eggs
* 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

* 3/4 Cup Sour Cream
* 1/4 Cup Milk
* 2 Tbsp Poppy Seeds
* 1/4 Cup Slivered Almonds sprinkle on top

* Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 12-cup muffin tin with liners or lightly grease it.
* In a large bowl, whisk together oil, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, almond extract, sour cream, and milk until smooth.
* Add flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder directly into the same bowl. Gently mix until just combined.
* Fold in the poppy seeds.
* Divide the batter evenly between the 12 muffin cups and sprinkle slivered almonds on top.
* Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
* Let cool slightly before serving.

This Spicy Canned Tuna Sushi Bake is creamy, savory, and packed with bold flavor! Made with simple pantry ingredients, it’s an easy, budget-friendly twist on sushi! It is perfect for sharing, scooping with seaweed, and satisfying all your sushi cravings at home.

INGREDIENTS
* 1 Can Tuna drained
* 2 Tbsp Sriracha
* 1/4 Cup Mayo
* 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
* 2 Tbsp Furikake
* 1 Cup White Rice cooked
* 1 tsp Sugar
* 1/2 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
* 1 Packet Seasoned Seaweed

INSTRUCTIONS
* Preheat your oven to 400F and prepare a 6-inch baking pan.
* In a bowl, add in your rice and heat it in the microwave for 1 minute. This is so it’s easier for the sugar and rice vinegar to soak in. Add in your rice vinegar and sugar and mix well.
* Next, add in the rice mixture to your baking pan in an even layer. Sprinkle furikake on top.
* Use the same bowl that you mixed up your rice in and add in your drained canned tuna, sesame oil, sriracha, and mayo and mix well.
* Add the layer of saucy tuna on your rice layer evenly on top. Sprinkle with furikake.
* Bake at 400F for 20-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
* Serve with a side of seasoned seaweed and enjoy!
