Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Chicken Drumsticks 🍋🍗 These lemon pepper chicken drumsticks are juicy chicken drumsticks infused with zesty lemon and bold pepper, delivering a burst of flavor in every bite. 😋 INGREDIENTS * 6 Chicken Drumsticks * 1 1/2 Tbsp Fresh Black Pepper * 1/4 Cup Lemon Zest * 1 Tbsp Salt * 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder * 2 Tbsp Olive Oil * 1/2 Lemon squeezed INSTRUCTIONS * In a large bowl, add your chicken drumsticks, black pepper, lemon zest, salt, garlic powder, and olive oil. Gently mix together until every piece of chicken is coated in the marinade. For this recipe, you really won’t need too much! I make this yummy chicken recipe in the air fryer but these would also be amazing baked or even grilled! You’ll need a few basic kitchen items like a mixing bowl, a spatula/tongs, cutting board, and a grater or microplane for the lemon zest.

CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?

Of course you can! I create really simple recipes that anyone can make at home. If you’re wanting to add more seasonings and spices, you sure can! Here are some great additions to elevate these chicken drumsticks:

  • Onion Powder
  • Smoked Paprika
  • Rosemary
  • Thyme
  • Parsley
  • Cilantro

I generally just squeeze lemon juice once it’s done cooking but you can also just add it into the marinade!

HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?

Lemon Pepper Chicken Drumsticks can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days in an airtight container. I make these for my husband’s lunch! He enjoys this on top of fresh white rice. You can also do pasta, bread or really any carbs on the side!

INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?

I mentioned in the beginning that meat has become very expensive lately and I find that chicken drumsticks has stayed affordable! My husband and I clean fairly clean as we both prioritize health and wellness especially the past few months which means lots of good protein sources and lots of it!

We eat lots of protein and it was honestly getting so draining to cook meat every single day. I was truly running out of flavour combinations in my head! I love having simple flavour combos as well and found these lemon pepper chicken drumsticks to be super light and delicious. It has now been added to the rotation! I love all things citrus so I’l incorporate lemon or lime into anything and lots of lemon and pepper work so well together!

ANY OTHER NOTES?

Yes! I recommend marinating these chicken drumsticks for a minimum 2 hours if you have the time, they are fine to cook immediately but I just find that the longer they sit in the marinade the better! Also, have fresh lemon to squeeze and fresh black pepper on top after cooking! It is my favourite part.

  • 6 Chicken Drumsticks
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Fresh Black Pepper
  • 1/4 Cup Lemon Zest
  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Lemon squeezed

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, add your chicken drumsticks, black pepper, lemon zest, salt, garlic powder, and olive oil. Gently mix together until every piece of chicken is coated in the marinade. Optional: marinate for 2 hous if you have the time but perfectly fine to cook immediately as well!

* 100 g Lean Ground Beef cooked however you’d like
* 120 g Black Beans cooked however you’d like 
* 150 g Raw Coleslaw Mix 
* 1-2 tbsp Buffalo Sauce

INSTRUCTIONS
* In a small bowl, heat up your ground beef and black beans for 45 seconds in the microwave.
* In a large bowl, add in your raw coleslaw mix then top your ground beef and black beans on top.
* Drizzle the bowl with your buffalo sauce, eat and enjoy!‹

* 1/4 Cup Chickpeas (dehydrated then rehydrated for 24 hours or canned)
* 1-3 Tbsp Furikake Seasoning put as much as you’d like! I put extra on mine <3
* 1 Tbsp Avocado Oil or any oil you prefer!

INSTRUCTIONS
* In a bowl, add in your chickpeas and oil. Mix well together so that every chickpea is coated in oil.
* Add your chickpeas in a single layer in your air fryer. Air fry at 400F for about 10-15 minutes depending on your preferred level of crunch!
