Ah! Happy Friday Friends! The last part of the series. I had so much fun interacting with you all on Youtube and through my social platforms. Loved hearing your thoughts on these recipes!

Did you catch part 1 and part 2 of my 3 Course Valentine’s Day mini series?

Part One – Crispy Garlic Shrimp Bites Appetizer

Part Two – Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta Bake Main Entree

So today, as you probably guess is the last part of the mini series….

Easy Chocolate Trifle Dessert

As always, I chose this as it is super easy and customizable. If you’re anything like me, you like a lot of different flavours and being able to taste it all in a bite. This is why I love trifles! They are super fun to layer and assemble and there are so many fantastic flavours!

I suggest assembling this first as you’ll need to give it enough time to be refrigerated so all the cake can soak up the flavours!

CONTINUE READING Easy Chocolate Trifle Dessert.

Where can I find these ingredients?

All these ingredients are available at your local grocery store! You can make the cake and brownie pieces from scratch or you can buy them already made! I prefer to just buy it made as I’m a horrible baker and will end up stressing over it.

What are the ingredients?

-Pound Cake

-Brownies

-Chocolate Pudding

-Chocolate Crumbs

-Whipped Cream

-Chocolate Shavings

Can I sub anything out?

You sure can! There are so many different ways to make trifles! These are some of the honorable mentions that I’d love to make one day!

https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/5699937016818191/sent/?invite_code=8487f6e883164413862bff33c11aceee&sender=688628736681298082&sfo=1 https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/4222193390275044/ https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/155163149649247464/

What does it taste like?

It’s honestly a cake Lol! It’s a more roomy cake if that makes sense. You know you eat cake, and obviously the layers and icing are very compact. With a trifle, it’s quite messy and not packed like a cake is. The layers of pudding and cream also make the cake layers much softer than a regular cake! This just taste like a brownie parfait almost. I’ve had a strawberry trifle and that one tastes like a strawberry shortcake. For me, I like that trifles are aesthetically pleasing. Seeing the layers makes the dessert so pretty!

Easy Chocolate Trifle Dessert

Chocolate, cake, pudding, and cream layer by layer. The best dessert to end your night. Super aesthetically pleasing as well!

Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 0 minutes mins
Course Dessert
Servings 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1 Loaf Vanilla Pound Cake
  • 1 Package Brownies
  • 1 Tub Whipping Cream
  • 1 Package Chocolate Crumbs
  • 1 Package Chocolate Shavings

Instructions

  • Chop your vanilla pound cake and brownies to smaller pieces. I did mine into small cubes but you can chop it in any way you'd like!
  • Grab a glass bowl that you can use to layer your trifle and start layering!
  • The way I layered mine goes pound cake, cream or pudding, chocolate crumbs, chocolate shavings, brownie and repeat til you get to the very top.
  • Last but not least, cover the remaining top area with whipped cream and sprinkle the last of your chocolate crumbs or shavings.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Serve and Enjoy!

Notes

  • Does not need to be a clear glass bowl but it’s the best for seeing the layers!

Are you having anything special this Valentine’s Day? I’d love to hear what you’re doing in the comment below! I hope you all have a fantastic Valentine’s Day and get to eat some yummy treats.

Thank you all for following this fun mini series!

Xo,

Lynn

OMG Lynn, this looks incredible! I have been living in the UK for the past 11 years and I never had trifle, usually here they put jelly – which I cannot do, just cannot – and I have always avoided. Yours looks too good to be real: the layers look like clouds and I will need to make it soon!

Thanks so much, Simona! I agree, the jelly intimidates me too! I don’t really like super sweet desserts. xx

Very beautiful presentation! This would definitely “wow” that special someone on Valentine’s Day! They don’t need to know how easy it was to put together, haha. I’m thinking of making some type of low carb berry tart for Valentine’s Day. With a nut crust & nut-based filling, it will help me stay on my diet while still having something sweet.
