Easy DIY Money Bouquet
As much as I love gift-giving, I’m a huge fan of giving money as gifts! Especially for me, I am very particular with my things as I get overwhelmed easily with stuff in my house, so when I pick something I love, I usually get it! My niece was graduating from elementary school, and I knew I wanted to give her money to enjoy her summer, but I needed to put a fun little auntie spin on it! This Easy DIY Money Bouquet is such a fun alternative to simply putting money inside a card!
I made this bouquet using Canadian $5 bills, rolled them into little flower-like shapes, and arranged them with delicate baby’s breath to create a full bouquet.
I love how simple and customizable this DIY is. You can use whatever denomination or currency you’d like, and you can change the flowers, wrapping paper, and ribbon to match the person you’re gifting it to. It’s especially cute for birthdays, graduations, weddings, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, or even as a fun cash gift for someone who has everything!

HERE IS HOW TO MAKE AN EASY DIY MONEY BOUQUET:
WHERE CAN YOU FIND THE MATERIALS TO MAKE THIS EASY DIY MONEY BOUQUET?
You can find most of the supplies for this DIY at your local dollar store, craft store, or even a grocery store with a floral section.
For my bouquet, I used simple materials that were easy to find. I picked up kraft-colored bouquet wrapping paper, white ribbon, and green gardening sticks, from the dollar store then had dried baby breath at home already. You can also find floral supplies at craft stores or online if you’d like to make a larger or more elaborate bouquet.
And, of course, the most important part *the cash* can be whatever currency and denomination you prefer! I used $5 Canadian bills and got $60 worth, but you can give however much you prefer or can afford!
WHAT ARE THE MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THIS EASY DIY MONEY BOUQUET?
For my Canadian money bouquet, I used:
- Canadian $5 bills – I used several bills to create the flowers
- Green gardening sticks
- Dried baby’s breath
- Kraft bouquet wrapping paper
- White ribbon
- Clear tape
You can use any denomination of bills you want. Using $5 bills makes the bouquet more affordable to build while still giving it that full, flower-filled appearance.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
You don’t need many tools for this DIY! You’ll need:
- Scissors
- Tape
- Optional: a ruler for measuring your wrapping paper, but I just wing it!
That’s it! The actual “flowers” are made from the bills, so you don’t need any fancy crafting equipment.
CAN I SUBSTITUTE ANY MATERIALS OUT?
Absolutely! This is one of my favourite things about making a money bouquet because you can customize almost everything. I literally just free-handed this by looking at several Pinterest inspo pics and created the bouquet with what I had.
Instead of Canadian $5 bills, you can use any denomination or currency. You could use $10, $20, or even a combination of different bills depending on your budget.
For the filler flowers, I used dried baby’s breath, but you can substitute it with:
- Small dried flowers
- Faux greenery
- Other delicate filler flowers
You can also swap the kraft paper for colourful wrapping paper, tissue paper, newspaper-style wrapping, or pretty floral bouquet paper.
For the ribbon, I chose simple white ribbon, but pink, blue, satin, velvet, or lace ribbon would all look adorable.
DOES THE DIY LAST TO USE FOR THE FOLLOWING YEARS?
The actual money can obviously be removed and used, so the bouquet isn’t necessarily meant to last forever as-is.
However, many of the bouquet materials can be reused! If you’re careful when taking it apart, you can save the wrapping paper, ribbon, floral stems, and decorative flowers to make another bouquet later.
If you’d like to keep the bouquet as a keepsake, you can also replace the real bills with fake money or paper flowers after the gift has been opened.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PUT TOGETHER?
This money bouquet takes approximately 20–30 minutes to put together, depending on how many money flowers you want to make. I actually did this very last minute, so trust me when I say that it was fast to put together!
The most time-consuming part is creating the individual money flowers. Once you have all of them prepared, arranging them with the baby’s breath and wrapping the bouquet is fairly quick and easy.
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS DIY
It was my little bestie niece’s elementary graduation, and I knew I wanted to give her some money so she could enjoy her summer, but as a creative Auntie, there was just no way I was putting it in an envelope and giving it to her!
I wanted a pretty way to give her a cash money gift and thought of making this easy DIY money bouquet! She loved it and was like “OMG, it’s too pretty to touch!”
I also loved the idea of keeping the bouquet simple and minimalist because I obviously want her to use the money so I knew the bouquet would be ripped apart haha. The blue Canadian $5 bills look so pretty against the delicate white baby’s breath, while the kraft paper and white ribbon keep the whole bouquet looking soft and understated.
STEPS TO PUT TOGETHER THIS EASY DIY MONEY BOUQUET:
1. Prepare Your Money
Start by deciding how much money you want to give and which bills you’d like to use. For my bouquet, I used Canadian $5 bills.
Make sure your bills are relatively flat and clean, so they’re easier to roll and shape.
2. Roll the Bills
Take each bill and carefully roll it into a loose cone shape, creating the look of a small flower.
You don’t want to roll the bills too tightly—you want the top to remain open so they have that pretty flower-like shape.
3. Attach the Bills to the Stems
Place each rolled bill onto a green floral stem or stick and secure it in place with a small amount of tape or floral tape.
Be careful not to damage the money. Avoid gluing, stapling, or using anything permanent directly on the bills.
4. Add the Baby’s Breath
Once you have your money flowers ready, arrange small pieces of baby’s breath between the bills.
I love using baby’s breath for this because the tiny white flowers make the bouquet look much fuller without taking attention away from the money flowers.
5. Arrange Your Bouquet
Gather the money flowers and baby’s breath together and arrange them into a bouquet.
Try placing some of the money flowers slightly higher and lower than others instead of keeping everything at the same height. This gives the bouquet a fuller, more natural flower arrangement.
6. Wrap the Bouquet
Place the bouquet onto your kraft bouquet paper and fold the paper around the stems.
I like the look of kraft paper because it gives the bouquet a simple, slightly rustic feel and lets the blue Canadian bills stand out.
7. Tie It With Ribbon
Secure the wrapping with a piece of white ribbon and tie it into a bow.
You can make the bow as simple or as dramatic as you’d like!
8. Give Your Money Bouquet!
Fluff out the baby’s breath and adjust any of the money flowers until you’re happy with the arrangement.
