I am notorious for using anything I can possibly find as a bookmark. I have always loved cute bookmarks and was thinking that the last time I purchased one was from my elementary Scholastic fair haha! I took matters into my own hands and decided to make Easy DIY Pink Coquette Bookmarks at home!

WHERE CAN YOU FIND THE MATERIALS TO MAKE THIS DIY PINK COQUETTE BOOKMARKS?

Most of the supplies can be found at your local craft store, dollar store, or online. Stores like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, JOANN, Dollar Tree, and Amazon carry everything from patterned cardstock and ribbon to paper trimmers and decorative scissors. You can also find beautiful printable coquette-themed papers on Etsy if you’re looking for even more unique designs.

I got all my materials from Amazon and Michaels!

WHAT ARE THE MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THIS DIY PINK COQUETTE BOOKMARKS?

Patterned scrapbook paper or cardstock
Thin satin ribbon or grosgrain ribbon
Hot glue
Decorative paper scissors

CAN I SUBSTITUTE ANY MATERIALS OUT?

Absolutely! Instead of scrapbook paper, you can use wrapping paper, printable digital designs, patterned cardstock, or even your own watercolor artwork. Twine, lace, velvet ribbon, or baker’s twine also make beautiful alternatives to satin ribbon. If you don’t have decorative scissors, regular scissors work just as well.

I used pink because they are personally for me but of course, you can do cute blue ones or yelllow ones! Honestly, any pattern works!

DOES THE DIY LAST TO USE FOR THE FOLLOWING YEARS?

Yes! If made with sturdy cardstock and stored properly, these bookmarks can last for years. Laminating them makes them even more durable and helps protect them from creases, spills, and everyday wear, making them perfect for frequent readers. I didn’t laminate mine just yet, but I do plan to make more to give to my friends and family that are laminated!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PUT TOGETHER?

These bookmarks are incredibly beginner-friendly and only take about 10–15 minutes to make a set. Once you’ve cut your paper, each bookmark only takes a minute or two to finish with some hot glue and tiny tied ribbon.

INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS DIY?

I am obsessed with all things pink and coquette! I went through a beige and millennial grey for a period of my life and that was just too boring for me looking back now! I love all things pretty and cute and wanted to make bookmarks that reflect this. The coquette aesthetic is a romantic style filled with bows, florals, soft pinks, vintage teddy bears, cherries, gingham, and delicate feminine details. They’re inspired by cozy reading days, vintage stationery, cottagecore charm, and all the little details that make reading feel extra special.

STEPS TO PUT TOGETHER THIS DIY PINK COQUETTE BOOKMARKS:

1. Cut your patterned cardstock or scrapbook paper into bookmark-sized strips (approximately 2 x 6 inches works well).

You can also just make bookmark sizes to your liking of course! I just winged the size of mine and they turned out great. You can use normal scissors but I used decorative scallop scissors to trim the edges for a cute finished look.
