Minimalism

Purchasing intentionally is the best thing to do for your wallet and life! I made a vow to only buy things that I love and if I couldn’t afford it, I would save up until I can or try and thrift it. I don’t settle for less anymore and we’re taking this attitude to 2021!

Open Concepts

I love the idea of having one huge room. It feels less isolating and a wonderful way to bring it to light in!

Boho

If you know me, you know how much I adore boho decor! So beautiful and cozy.

  10. Open concepts are my top 2 faves atm! I used to hate the idea of having plants round the house as it was too outdoorsy for me and not cosy enough, but now I think it brings a fresh vibe to the room. x

    1. I could see that! Open concepts are so nice especially when you live with family. You could be in the same room but not really haha.

  11. I’m definitely feeling the greenery and boho vibes. I also love clean, natural looks too and think I could try and combine these in the new year for some fresh looks at home. Thanks for sharing! Happy 2021 to you!

  12. The first one is pretty with the trees and the colors just amazing. I would like to decorate my desk where I work like that. Thank you for sharing these awesome ideas!

  13. A lot of interesting trends this year. I’m down for more greenery and overall less stuff. Funnily enough, we got rid of several of our indoor plants this fall, they were starting to die off. I plan to replace them this spring and look forward to having plenty of plants once again. Love having big windows, letting in that natural light is fantastic and also helps to warm up the house during the colder months.

    1. Thanks for reading Sarah! I totally agree, less stuff allows me to be less anxious and more at peace with the space I have!

  16. Great post Lynn! You’ve focused on some amazing trends! I’ve been a plant mom for awhile and love having big open windows for them. I also think being more sustainable is so important, especially now. It is definitely something I am trying to embrace more.

  17. You picked some beautiful trends! I’m still really hung up on mid-century modern, even though it’s not as trendy as it was a few years ago, and I love searching for great vintage pieces in thrift stores.

    1. Thanks so much for reading Irene! I love thrifting as well 🙂

    1. Agreed! I love this style as well. Thank you for reading 🙂

  18. Ohhh greenery is a definite choice for me. I have a pretty big fantasy forest tapestry in my cart and I’m hoping to at least semi transform my bedroom into a forest like room.
    Great post!

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by Esther! Love that idea of a forest tapestry! 🙂

  19. I want to do some decorating this year, so this post has given me some inspiration. I’m a huge fan of neutral shades but with pops of colour from accessories. So it’s good to know this is still a relevant trend. I also love the idea of a junk drawer and clear surfaces. I hate clutter, so I much prefer ‘things’ being out of sight. And more greenery sounds like a great idea too. Thanks for sharing all these x

  20. big and bright windows are my style! i love getting sunshine in the morning, it just makes me feel so refreshed and inspired!

  21. Simple but fabulous decor trends! I always loved a house that is bright and spacious which is the way it looked in your photos! Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

  22. These are great trends. I don’t have a green thumb but I love the idea of more greenery in the house so I’ve been adding more plants.

Open concept is awesome but we’re kind of limited by what we have in the homes we live in. I grew up in the north of England where every room was shut off from the others. Our house is about 40 years old so it’s fairly open. When we renovated our kitchen, we knocked out a wall between the kitchen and dining area. I was amazed at how much bigger and brighter it made our kitchen.

    1. Thanks, Michelle! Totally agree. I rent my place currently so there’s so much I can do but the little things do make an amazing difference 🙂

  23. I am IN LOVE with my hammock outdoors, so the idea of having something that comfortable indoors really stands out to me. I wouldn’t say that our house is overly boho, but it is a little more rustic so I’m sure that I could pull it off if it’s carried out in the right way! I DO have an open area in the living room that I’ve been trying to decide what to do with… The ideas are now running through my mind! Thanks for the inspiration!

  24. I love your concept of buying only what you love – I think this is key in making your place a home! It’s well worth the wait, and/or the investment in time. Thanks for sharing!

  25. I love these so much!! I would love to buy plants and have lots of boho decors! i love it too! Thank you for sharing these

  26. Interior design is one of my favorite things. Just yesterday I totally redecorated my bedroom. I love the minimalist and boho style so much. I tried to also apply some feng shui magic to it.

    1. Yay! That’s great to hear. I love redecorating through the seasons. Thanks for reading 🙂

  27. Im always a YES to light and lots of it. Anytime of day or year. Does wonders for the mind and soul.

    1. I love light! Makes me feel so much better. Thanks so much for reading 🙂

  28. I’ve definitely seen a lot more rattan recently (H&M home has an entire collection) and I’m happy to see that greenery will continue to be a trend – that reminds me to get a couple more houseplants!

    1. Right?! Rattan products are super popular lately! Yay, more houseplants 🙂

  29. I am defo into the boho look but I don’t think I could pull it off in my own home. I get stressed when the’re stuff everywhere!

    Rosie

  30. Apart from rattan (as I have a severe fear of spiders haha) I love ALL of these trends!

    Katie | katieemmabeauty.com

    1. Oh, thats amazing! Wishing you all the best with your move xo

  33. I love the idea of more greenery! Rattan products are also my utmost favorite. They’re so simple, yet add so much life to the room. I’ve been thinking of buying a few small plants for my workspace. Thanks for these trends!

  34. I am all about minimalism. Sold my house last year and got rid of SO much “stuff”- it felt amazing!

  35. After the darkness of 2020 and being stuck at home during lockdown, it makes sense that we will see more natural lighting elements and greenery. Bring nature inside!

  36. I love all these ideas!
I have definitely become that ‘more green’ person over the last year or so.

    1. Thanks Emma! It’s always nice to take small steps for a healthier planet 🙂
