I’m starting to think if you put candy eyes on any recipe item, it tends to end up looking like a Halloween recipe! Halloween is the perfect time to get creative in the kitchen, and these Pillsbury Jalapeno Popper Mummies are a spooky and delicious treat that will impress your guests. Combining the classic flavors of jalapeno poppers with a festive Halloween twist, these mummies are wrapped in flaky Pillsbury dough and baked to golden perfection. They make for an ideal appetizer or snack at your Halloween party, offering just the right amount of heat and crunch.

Making these Jalapeno Popper Mummies is both fun and easy. Start with fresh jalapenos, hollowed out and filled with a creamy mixture of cream cheese and shredded cheddar. The poppers are then wrapped in Pillsbury crescent roll dough to resemble mummies and completed with candy eyes. This clever presentation not only makes them visually appealing but also ensures that they are golden brown on the outside and rich and creamy on the inside.

These mummies are perfect for all ages and can be customized to suit your taste preferences. Whether you prefer a milder pepper or a spicier kick, you can adjust the filling to meet your needs. Plus, they are an excellent make-ahead option, allowing you to enjoy the Halloween festivities without being stuck in the kitchen. Serve them with a side of marinara or ranch dressing for dipping, and watch as they disappear from the plate!

With Pillsbury Jalapeno Popper Mummies, you can bring a touch of whimsy and flavour to your Halloween celebration. They are not only a treat for the eyes but also a delight for the taste buds, ensuring that your party is a spooktacular success.

HERE IS HOW TO MAKE HALLOWEEN PILLSBURY JALAPENO POPPER MUMMIES:

WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?

You can find the ingredients to make Halloween Pillsbury Jalapeno Popper Mummies at most grocery stores. Here’s where to look for each item:

  1. Pillsbury Crescent Rolls: In the refrigerated section, typically near the dairy products or where other pre-made doughs and pastries are located.
  2. Jalapeno Peppers: In the produce section, usually near other fresh peppers and vegetables.
  3. Cream Cheese: In the dairy section, alongside other cheese and dairy products.
  4. Shredded Cheddar Cheese: In the dairy section, near other shredded and sliced cheeses.
  5. Bacon: In the refrigerated meat section, often near other breakfast meats like sausage and ham.
  6. Seasonings: In the pantry section where all the general seasonings are found!
  7. Candy Eyes: In the baking aisle, usually near cake decorations and sprinkles, or in the seasonal Halloween section if available.

Most large grocery stores or supermarkets will carry all these items, making it convenient to gather everything you need for this fun Halloween recipe.

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?

The ingredients to make these delicious spooky jalapeno poppers are:

  • Jalapenos
  • Cream Cheese
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Bacon
  • Pillsbury Cresent Dough
  • Candy eyes
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Dried Parsley

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

You don’t need very much to make this recipe delicious! All you’ll need is a cutting board and knife to cut strips of crescent dough to make your mummy bandages and of course, you’ll need to de-seed your jalapenos so you can just use a spoon or remove the seeds with your fingers! Remember not to touch your eyes!

Aside from this, you’ll need a bowl to create the cream cheese mixture and a small spoon to fill each jalapeno!

Here are some of my Amazon fav kitchen items!

CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?

You sure can! This is my general simple recipe for making jalapeno poppers but you can of course alter it to your liking! If you want to omit the bacon, that’s totally okay. The cream cheese mixture is so delicious regardless of the bacon.

Aside from that, here are some great ideas to add to the mixture!

  • Fresh minced garlic and onions
  • Panko breadcrumbs
  • Paprika, Chilli Powder, or other spices
  • Herbs like parsley, cilantro, dill, green onions

WHAT DO HALLOWEEN PILLSBURY JALAPENO POPPER MUMMIES TASTE LIKE?

Halloween Pillsbury Jalapeno Popper Mummies offer a delightful combination of flavors and textures. Here’s what to expect:

  • Spicy and Tangy: The fresh jalapeno peppers add a spicy kick, balanced by the tanginess of the cream cheese filling.
  • Creamy and Cheesy: The cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese melt together, creating a rich, creamy, and cheesy center.
  • Smoky and Savory: If you include bacon, it adds a smoky, savoury element that complements the spiciness of the jalapenos and the creaminess of the cheese.
  • Buttery and Flaky: The Pillsbury Crescent Roll dough bakes up to a golden, buttery, and flaky exterior, providing a perfect contrast to the creamy, spicy filling.

Overall, these mummies are a delicious mix of spicy, creamy, cheesy, and flaky, making them a hit at any Halloween gathering.

HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?

Halloween Pillsbury Jalapeno Popper Mummies can last for up to 3-4 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. For best taste and texture, reheat them before serving. Note that if you use candy eyes, they will melt or lose shape in the fridge so make sure you’re only placing the eyes right before serving!

After I was done making this, I kept it in the fridge and it basically melted from the condensation haha

INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?

I made these cute Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs a few years back an loved how they looked! I knew I wanted to incorporate a lot more mummy recipes because mummies during Halloween are so underrated! Everyone is focused on pumpkins and witches but mummies are just as iconic during Halloween!

I really loved how they turned out and they are so yummy! I watched Practical Magic when I made this and was eating it during the movie so it was the perfect movie night snack!

ANY OTHER NOTES?

Yes! Like I mentioned above, the candy eyes do not keep their shape really well so you will need to place them right before serving. Do not bake them or keep them in the fridge with the eyes on! They will end up super ugly and the candy melts.
