Happy Tuesday, my friends! I’m trying to get more posts out in January/February then focus on marketing/SEO after. I feel a little overwhelmed doing everything at once so you’ll be getting a huge burst of posts in the first half of the year!

I baked cookies last night and realized a habit I do for everything I bake is lessen the sugar and chocolate chips! Do you like your desserts/treats not as sweet? Maybe I’m just *different*

I was scrolling TikTok and saw this recipe but apparently, it’s a recipe that went viral so I’m not too sure who is the original creator. So, hopefully, I can find out but it’s a pretty generic cookie recipe anyway.

I’m going to be posting the original recipe since I just lessen the sugars/chocolate chips by eye.

These are perfect to make when you’re craving a dessert after dinner! Also, so easy to make it in time for Valentine’s Day for date night or to give as a gift.

HERE’S HOW TO MAKE The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe:

Where can I find these ingredients?

The reason I made this was actually that everything was in my fridge and pantry already! Most of the ingredients are staples and if not, a quick grocery run will help you out.

What are the ingredients?

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 + 3/4 cup flour
  • 4 oz bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 4 oz semisweet chocolate chips

Can I sub anything out?

Hmm, I’m definitely not that great of a baker to suggest that you sub anything out but I think with a simple google search you can definitely find some alternatives to these ingredients!

These are simple easy and can very well be nut-free so can be taken into schools! Just make sure you get nut-free ingredients. I have never had a baker’s touch and often burn what I bake or it just doesn’t taste great.

I’m extremely happy to say that this has worked for me and I’ve been making this recipe for years to come which is why I wanted to share! I also tried my friend’s at The Grumpy Olive’s recipe for Chunky & Buttery Chocolate Chip Cookies and it was so good! Half of it didn’t even make it into the oven Lol! I ate the raw cookie dough immediately – I do/do not recommend 😉

I did a little Halloween treat recipe too with Chocolate Chip Cookies but I used premade cookie dough! Check out these Easy Halloween Spider Cookies! I’ll use a chocolate chip cookie recipe from scratch from now on 🙂

  6. I love, love, love chocolate chip cookies! Sometimes I like them crunchy, sometimes chewy, and sometimes in between. I like my cookies to be sweet but not too sweet so I usually do not lessen sugar because I use dark chocolate chips only. 🙂

However, on special days, I make a good cookie base and add butterscotch or white chocolate chips to it! ?

  11. Looks like the perfect chocolate chip cookie! I’ve started altering recipes to follow a keto diet. I made chocolate snowball cookies and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies recently – made with almond flour and Lakanto (monkfruit) instead of regular flour & sugar. They are great, at least to me! lol

    1. Ooh! That’s amazing. I was trying keto last March for about 2 months. I did not try and bake! I usually bought keto-friendly treats. That sounds like a good challenge x
