Oh, I will never shy away from Thanksgiving leftovers! I look forward to Thanksgiving every year because it is one of my favourite meals EVER! I always go all out for every Thanksgiving and am so happy that my family loves my food!
FRIENDS is one of my comfort shows, and it’s one I go back to every couple of years! When I was younger, I did not fully understand the rage that Ross went through because someone had eaten the sandwich he’s been looking forward to at his lowest period, but now, I UNDERSTAND 😂 Let’s recreate it!

HERE IS HOW TO MAKE THE MOIST MAKER SANDWICH FROM FRIENDS:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this sandwich is basically all your leftovers from Thanksgiving! Turkey, cranberry sauce, gravy and stuffing are the stars of the dish, then you’ll want to have your favourite bread on hand. All year round, you can find turkey deli meat, canned cranberry sauce, gravy and stuffing from your local grocery store for an easy way to make this. However, leftovers from the Thanksgiving weekend are, of course, the best! For the bread, I used a fresh sourdough loaf that I purchased from the grocery store, but feel free to use whatever bread you prefer. You can also feel free to add in whatever other Thanksgiving sides you have!
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this moist maker sandwich are:
- 3 Pieces of Sourdough Bread
- Turkey Breast Slices
- Canned Cranberry Sauce
- Turkey Gravy
- Stuffing
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
You don’t need any particular equipment to make this recipe! I pretty much had the assistance of chef Mike (microwave haha) and also my air fryer to toast the bread, as I do not have a toaster! You can use a stove for everything, or just a microwave, too.
Here are some of my Amazon kitchen favs!
CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?
You sure can! This is a standard Thanksgiving leftover sandwich, so you can essentially make your own creations to tailor to what you have/want in them. I used very basic Thanksgiving dinner things minus the veggies but definitely tailor it to your liking! Here are some ideas to change up this recipe!
- Add mayo, butter or aioli to the sandwich
- Add in some cooked leftover or fresh veggies
- Add some cheese, like mozzarella or brie
- Add some hot sauce or chilli flakes for a kick
WHAT DOES THE MOIST MAKER SANDWICH FROM FRIENDS TASTE LIKE?
Oh my, the moist maker sandwich is incredible!! I normally get the Thanksgiving sandwich from Starbucks annually, too, and this kind of reminds me of it! Don’t get me wrong though, it is super carb-heavy!! It felt like I basically ate a loaf of bread haha 3 pieces of bread and stuffing! The cranberry sauce was a delicious sweet surprise with a very savoury bite. The gravy-soaked bread really did make an amazing difference in taste! I’ve made Leftover Thanksgiving Turkey Sliders before, which was phenomenal for the gravy-soaked bread in the middle was perfect! Savoury stuffing, heart turkey, sweet cranberry and rich gravy make for a perfect sandwich!
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
I would definitely recommend making this fresh HOWEVER, I did make two of these and kept one in the fridge for the next day and ate it cold, and it was still so delicious! I do recommend not keeping it in the fridge for longer than 2 days if you even have that many leftovers haha! This sandwich is amazing both hot and cold.
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
I did this series where I try different foods from TV and movies a while back and I missed it so much! Thanksgiving is just around the corner and knew this would be absolutely perfect! The moist maker sandwich popped in my head and I knew I had to try it out! It definitely did not disappoint and will be making this soon!
ANY OTHER NOTES?
Note that to soak the bread fully, you may need to thin out your gravy! My gravy was quite thick, and even though I did soak it for 10 minutes, it definitely was not fully soaked.
